Severe thunderstorms are possible across northern Indiana on Friday, June 26, 2020. Primarily, this will be a damaging wind gust threat and a large hail risk. However, a brief tornado or two shouldn't be ruled out based on model runs and soundings.
In the late afternoon, thunderstorms are expected to initiate across northern Indiana and trek east across northern IN/southern MI/northwest OH ahead of a developing squall line of severe thunderstorms. These small cells in front of the bigger line of severe storms would be greatest storms to become supercells and produce brief tornadoes. A 5% tornado threat exists in Michigan and a 2% tornado threat barely stretches into extreme northern IN.
